Dramatique (Neridah Oostenbroek) for String Orchestra
Dramatique is an exhilarating piece for an advanced string orchestra. The piece is rhythmically based at the beginning and while the constantly changing time signatures look daunting, a steady quaver pulse is maintained throughout this section making it easier to navigate.
The opening section is intended to be spiccato but could be done on the string with energy if the ensemble is still developing its’ spiccato.
There are some contrasting legato melodies in the middle section with position work required. The opening melody returns at the end and culminates in a thrilling finish!
