Fantasia (Neridah Oostenbroek) for String Orchestra

Fantasia is an emotional piece that takes the players and the audience on a journey through many differing styles. It begins with a solo cello cadenza over a shimmering tremolo which leads into a lilting melody in the violins.

This is followed by a fast and energetic middle section which features all instruments before ending quietly with a reminiscence of the opening theme.

There are solos for violin, viola and cello and while not difficult, it is important that they are played in a suitable rubato style.
