Funky Frog (Teegan Dowdell) for String Orchestra
Funky Frog was inspired by one of my favourite French cafĆ©s in my hometown. The focus is for students to develop string crossings (the jumping frog) as well as development of F- and C-naturals accidentals (the āfunkyā), as well as C-sharps on the G string in the Violin II part.
There is some healthy arco and pizzicato interplay between all five parts in the final section of the piece, encouraging students to count their rests like never before! Grade 2. Performance time: 2:00.
