


H. Emile Blondelet Violin from the Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy Workshop Paris 1922
This violin was made in the Mirecourt workshop of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy. Commonly known as 'J.T.L', this workshop produced a prolific number of instruments at the turn of the 20th Century.
This violin was made in the Mirecourt workshop of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy. Commonly known as 'J.T.L', this workshop produced a prolific number of instruments at the turn of the 20th Century.
This violin is labelled 'H. Emile Blondelet. Lurgier a Paris. No 558 Annee 1922'. The body measures 357mm along the back, 165mm across the upper bouts and 203mm across the lower bouts. The back is of two piece, medium flamed maple with matching ribs and scroll. The top is fine-grained straight spruce. It is in excellent condition and has been finished with golden-brown varnish on a yellow ground.
This violin has a bright, sweet sound, with immediate response and balance.
