About the Maker:

Heinrich Theodore Heberlein Jr (1843-1909) was one of the highest regarded Markneukirchen makers in his time. Following his studies with his father, Carl August Heberlein, Ludwig Bausch in Leipzig, and finally August Riechers in Hanover, Heinrich established his independent workshop in 1863. It was from here that he worked until his retirement in 1897.

This example of his work features a beautifully flamed, one-piece maple back with fine-medium grained spruce on the top. It has a deep brown varnish and is finished with ebony fittings. This violin yields a strong and focussed sound suitable for solo and chamber settings.
